Performance and Safety
The base engine in the 2016 Jeep Renegade is a turbocharged four cylinder that puts out 160 horsepower and has a six-speed manual transmission. You can upgrade to a 2.4-liter engine that delivers 180 horsepower and has a nine-speed automatic transmission plus an option for front- or four-wheel drive.
EPA-estimated fuel economy comes in around 25 mpg. When equipped with optional towing package, it can handle around 2,000 lbs.
Safety features come in two packages, offering amenities such as blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic monitoring and alerts, lane departure and keeping, parking sensors and forward braking, and collision mitigation. It comes standard with traction control, anti-lock brakes, standard airbags, and Hill Start Assist.
